Guide
What to ask an event DJ client
Collect decisions that change timing, announcements, music and equipment.
Ask only questions that change the job
- Capture event, venue and day-of contacts.
- Confirm access, setup deadline, finish time, sound restrictions and power arrangements with the venue.
- List formal moments, their times, names and pronunciations.
- Separate must-play, play-if-possible and do-not-play choices.
- Agree who may request music and who can approve timeline changes.
- Send one final summary for written confirmation.
Useful question versus vague question
| Avoid | Ask instead |
|---|---|
| What music do you like? | Name 5–10 tracks that best describe the intended floor. |
| Any announcements? | List each announcement, exact name pronunciation and target time. |
| Can I set up early? | What is the earliest confirmed load-in time and who grants access? |
Collect the minimum personal data needed, store it securely and remove it when no longer required.
