Guide
A practical DJ gig checklist
Work backwards from departure, performance and return.
Use three checkpoints
Before departure
- Confirm address, loading access, contact, parking, start time and setup window.
- Test playback, mixer, audio interface, microphones and backup playback.
- Pack by signal path: sources, control, outputs, power, stands, lighting and spares.
At the venue
- Inspect power and cable routes before connecting equipment.
- Build safely, test each channel, set gain structure and check microphone coverage.
- Confirm timeline changes and emergency contacts.
Before leaving
- Check every packed item back in, including adapters and venue-connected cables.
- Record damage, consumables used, unpaid balance and follow-up actions.
A checklist supports—not replaces—electrical safety, venue rules, competent rigging and appropriate insurance.
